Conférence de Alan Liu
Alan Liu, professeur à l’Université de Californie à Santa Barbara, donnera une conférence en anglais à l’Université Concordia le 28 février 2014 :
Mickey Mouse creativity : new media arts after the ideology of creativity
What does it mean today for creative artists, writers, and designers – especially those using digital tools – to be creative when the “creative economy,” “creative destruction,” “disruptive innovation,” and so on make
creativity big business? Starting with reflections on a few “creative” digital entities at both the micro and macro scales (a rat-brain-cell cyborg artist, the AARON digital artist, and a major software company that prides itself on innovation), this talk inquires into the nature of creativity and its relation to contemporary ideologies of creativity. The talk concludes by speculating on alternative ideologies of digital “development” and “building.”
